Yep, a fifth cycle
Back in Bethesda for the 4th cycle of "induction chemo", and learned in clinic today that not only did my CD4 level not come down to where they wanted it to proceed with the Transplant in mid-June, but in fact it went UP!. So I definitely have to have a 5th cycle, putting the transplant on July 14th (Bastille day). (Interestingly, regardless of what the CD4 level is next time they will still proceed with the transplant!? Go figure.)
Lorna came down from NYC to "help" me with my chemo, ofcourse bearing a David Glass cake - these are small but very intense chocolate cakes.
The extra cycle means we may be able to make some family graduations in Western Washington and Oregon in early June, and our x-country drive will be approximately June 24th-July 5th. That magical 100th day, when they let me return to Idaho, will now be October 22nd.
Three more days of chemo in this cycle, and back to Idaho!
