Mother's Day
Mary Catherine here. Phil has received quite an array of antibiotics, antifungals, antiemetics, immunosuppressives after getting his megadose of marrow wiper-outer yesterday so needless to say his appetite is leaving him. He says, " this is when you want to curl up in a ball." He's not feeling very entertaining. He'll try and manage to keep anything down, somewhat unsuccessfully a while ago. He may ask for something to help him sleep better tonight and will probably have the IV hooked up once again; he thought he was free from that for a while. Earlier we took a walk under an overcast sky and cooler air around the grounds, enjoying roses, and all the flowers and trees in bloom, watched the progress of the new parking garages and spaces to be filled with new buildings. It's a huge complex. So Lorna and I are being as quiet as we can. Pandora has been a life-saver with great music of any genre, Phil preferring classical at the moment.
Sarah skyped us from Paraguay and sounded great. What a daughter! It's raining out now so the umbrellas we brought will come in handy for the walk back to Chinky's later.
The next few days will be rough ones for sure. Let's hope this phase is as short as it can be. We feel all those good healing vibes coming this way and hope to direct them to the tummy department now and then to the marrow department later.
A big wish of Happy Mother's Day to all those moms out there. Lorna and I will celebrate our mommyness a little later.
Until tomorrow.
